Abstract

Many victims of crime experiencing mental health difficulties do not have access to the psychosocial services they need. Digital technologies and artificial intelligence have the potential to help address this gap. However, several factors hinder the implementation and widespread adoption of these approaches. Overcoming these barriers requires an interdisciplinary research agenda aimed at advancing the development, implementation, and accessibility of digital and AI-based mental health interventions.

Biography

Stéphane Guay, PhD, psychologist, is a professor at the School of Criminology and the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at the Université de Montréal. His research focuses on improving clinical care for individuals exposed to violent crime. He is also interested in the development and application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence to improve access to and the quality of mental health care.
