Workshop by Virginie Portes
Monday, June 2, 2025, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Room C-1017-02, Pavillon Lionel-Groulx, Université de Montréal & Online (Zoom)
These days, one might think that generating a successful grant application is as simple as asking a generative AI—but it's not quite that easy. Writing a strong proposal is an art that must be learned, refined, and developed over time.
This workshop, led by Virginie Portes, draws on her extensive experience and highlights key insights from her guide The Art of Writing a Strong Grant Application. The session will explore three main areas:
Understanding the grant system: What are the roles and responsibilities of those involved?
Content of the application: What should be included in each section?
Planning and organization: How can one manage time and structure the process to meet deadlines?
The workshop includes a 45-minute presentation followed by Q&A sessions. It emphasizes essential skills and presents a proven working method that significantly increases the chances of success.
