Honors

  • 2014: Member of the College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists, Royal Society of Canada.

  • 2013: Silver Vigilance and Loyalty Medal, awarded by the Sûreté du Québec.

  • 2011: Beccaria Award, established to distinguish a researcher or research team whose contribution to criminology has been noted in both fundamental or theoretical research and applied, operational, or evaluative research. This award was presented to him during the biennial joint congress of the Société de criminologie du Québec (SCQ) and the Canadian Criminal Justice Association (ACJP) held in Québec from October 26 to 29, 2011.

  • 2010: Francopol Award, in the category of "Development, dissemination of training, and research to combat cybercrime." This award acknowledges perseverance and rigor in research and teaching to combat cybercrime.

  • 2005: Denis-Caroll Award for Young Researchers for his book Construction et réforme d'une police: le cas australien, published by L'Harmattan (Paris, 2003), awarded by the International Society of Criminology. He received this prize at the 14th World Congress in Philadelphia.

  • 2004: Gabriel-Tarde Prize, won in 2004, for his book Construction et réforme d'une police: le cas australien, published by L'Harmattan (Paris, 2003) in the "Sécurité et société" collection. This prize rewards the author of a criminology book written in French and published for the first time. It is awarded every two years by the French Society of Criminology and the French Ministry of Justice. Mr. Dupont received this prize in Paris from the Minister of Justice on the occasion of the opening of the first world conference of criminology societies.
